Another great race that was over before it could begin. Started at the height of COVID and land ownership transferring hands CALgonquin never had a chance to become another of the great races. SO sadly here is the archive of what was and could have been.

2021 Course Map with Aide Stations

Date: Saturday, April 17th, 2021

Time: 6:30 am for the 50k

         7:00 am for the 25k

Distance: 50k/25k-ish, 31/15.5-ish miles (keep in mind these are trails and your GPS watches may lie to you, prepare to possibly run further than what your watch displays)
Dirt and Vert are calling.

Welcome to the first-ever Calgonquin 50k located in the beautiful rolling hills of Tehachapi, California. This is will be a 50k/25k with lots of elevation change and a few serious climbs. We are excited to have you join us and experience the trails we love in California.

CUTOFF: The final cutoff time for the 50k is 12 hours (6:30 pm) and for the 25k is 11.5 hours (6:30 pm) Runners will be expected to carry the slowest pace possible throughout the entire course. If a runner falls significantly behind pace, The CAlgonquin Crew reserves the right to pull a runner from the race at any time and anywhere on the course.

This course is 99% trails. The trails are single track and can be dangerous both climbing up the hills and running down the hills.

There will be well-stocked aid stations every five to six miles with water, electrolyte drinks, soda, boiled potatoes, something sweet and something salty.
Be prepared for beautiful California spring weather.

There is NO rain date. We will run in the rain, snow, and sleet.
Only a "force majeure" which makes EMS, aid stations, and support staff unable to function will be cause for cancellation. In the event of a cancellation, NO refunds or credits will be applied to future events.
Swag will include all sorts of stuff that runners love and that represents the Tehachapi area.
Awards for the top 3 men and top 3 women...

The CAlgonquin 50k/25k is a community-based, eco-friendly, volunteer-supported, event whose mission is to promote, maintain, increase trails use in Tehachapi. We work closely with The Tehachapi Mountain Trail Association and the trail community in large to provide a safe, fun, exciting race.
